As we are reading our textbook we have discovered that there were many causes of the Revolutionary War. From the French and Indian War to the signing of the Declaration of Independence, many events contributed to the war. Our class will create a comic book depicting some of the causes of the war. Some of these events will coincide with the project you are completing in computer. You and a partner will research two events, and then create a comic book page about each event. Each student will be responsible for one page, but you will be working together. You will need to find out the following:
- The date of the event
- A summary of the event(s)
- How did this event cause the Revolutionary War
You will use your textbook and the World Book Electronic Encyclopedia as your resources.
The events are:
- The French and Indian War
- Proclamation of 1763
- Sugar Act
- Quartering Act
- Stamp Act
- Townsend Act
- Boston Massacre
- Committees of Correspondence
- Tea Act
- Boston Tea Party
- Intolerable Acts
- First Continental Congress
- Second Continental Congress
- Paul Revere's Ride
- Fort Ticonderoga
- "The shot Heard 'Round the World"/Battle of Lexington and Concord
- Common Sense
- Patrick Henry's Speeches
